q & a for baby and children

Q: When is the best time to start our session?

A: The best time for children would be after their nap where they’re fully rested and  after a meal on a full stomach.

Q: Where can we go to do the shoot?

A: We’ll start wherever your child is most comfortable and is well-aware of their surroundings. We don’t want to shock any of them with a new place and meeting us (new people) all at once. Locations that are more than 25 miles outside of Chino, CA, but still in Southern Cali, will have an additional $25 fee.

Q: What should they wear?

A: Whatever is comfortable for them. I also like to suggest for the children to pick out their favorite outfit, as well as their most beloved “accessories” to bring and wear or hold, to the shoot. It gives the session a more vibrant & fun feel.

Q: How long will the shoot last?

A: For younger children (newborns, infants, toddlers), theirs typically takes about 2 to 3 hours due to snack time, nursing, diaper changes, etc. Older children take about 1 to 2 hours.

Q: How will you pose my children/baby?

A: For newborns, with help from mommy or daddy of course, we do pose them to bring out their most adorable selves. However, for older babies and children, we typically do not like to pose them. This is when we opt for a photojournalistic style to enable us to capture them at their most natural state. We feel that posing children hinders them from their uniqueness and our ability to really capture those special moments we crave for as parents. I’m known to chase them around without getting in their way and finishing the shoot a littler shinier from sweat beads than from when we first started.

q & a for everyone else

Q: Where can we go for our shoot?

A: After our consultation, our get-to-know-each-other meeting, we’ll collaborate on the location according to the type of style and feel you envision for your custom photography. If you haven’t got a clue, that’s what we’re here for! We’ll simply lay out a few suggestions and ideas and you let us know which way you want to steer this ship matey! Aaarrr! (Wow… where did the pirate come from??) Locations that are more than 25 miles outside of Chino, CA, but still in Southern Cali, will have an additional $25 fee.

Q: What time of the day should we start?

A: Early morning or later in the afternoon is best in order to avoid any unwanted, unflattering, harsh lighting. The shoot will typically last any where from 1 to 2 hours, or more, depending on any hindrances (i.e. weather, wardrobe malfunction, etc.).

Q: What should we wear?

A: Stylistically and depending on the type of “look” we’re going for (from our “getting to know each other” meeting), we are more than happy to offer our ideas and suggestions in order to achieve the “look”.

Q: I have some special items I would like to bring with me, is this okay?

A: Abso-freakin’-lutely!!!!! We love to incorporate “special items” into the shoot because it personifies… you! This is what custom photography is all about. This also turns out fabulous for editorial style sessions. Now I’m all excited…. let’s talk about customizing your shoot!!

Q: How will we know how to “pose” and stuff?

A: As a lifestyle photographer, I do aim for a stylish and a totally rocked out photo session. To achieve this, we most definitely help and direct you in which direction to go and from there, we sit back and watch you all work it! We want you to feel comfortable, to have fun, to laugh and play with us, and to look your most beautiful and handsome self!

Q: For us women, should we get our make-up and hair done professionally?

A: My personal advice is, yes. I highly recommend it, especially false eye-lashes. When hair and make-up is done right, the look is perfection and flirty. With ample timing in setting our appointment date for your photo session, for an additional fee, a stylist may be present before and during your shoot. Please contact me for further details.

Q: When will we be able to see our proof gallery?

A: Your personal gallery of 30 to 40 images will be posted approximately 2 weeks after your initial shoot. Your images will be fully and artistically edited for your “viewing pleasure”. Print and package orders will be another 2 weeks to arrive and delivered personally. Gallery wraps and storybook items may take longer.

Q: What type of payments do you accept?

A: We accept cash or check at the day of the session for the initial session fee. If paying with your VISA or Mastercard debit or credit, please let us know in advance and we will send you a PayPal link prior to the event. There will be a $35 fee for any returned checks. Payment is due at the time of print or product order.

Q: Do you offer refunds or exchanges?

A: Due to the customization of prints, packages, and products, as well as the time and care placed into the process of each order, refunds and/ or exchanges cannot be honored. All print and product orders are final. We thank you in advance for your understanding.

Q: Do you travel out of state?

A: We pride ourselves as parents and our little family comes before business, so unfortunately, no not yet.
